[ARCHIVED] Town of Babylon Officials Welcome Walking Veteran to Town Hall

Town of Babylon Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez and Councilwoman and U.S. Army Veteran Jackie Gordon welcomed Frank Romeo, a military veteran who is in the midst of walking 750 miles across New York State to support local veterans.

Romeo, 70, openly battles the effects of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) that he developed after serving in Vietnam. During his walk across New York, he is staying in homeless shelters and eating in soup kitchens like many other veterans across the country do each day.

Councilwoman Gordon, who served multiple tours of duty in Afghanistan, Iraq, Cuba and Germany, thanked Romeo for his efforts to bring this important issue to light and presented him with an official Town of Babylon Proclamation for his dedication to the veteran community.
