Councilwoman Jackie Gordon and her students of the SKillsUSA Program of the Wilson Tech Republic Airport Campus once again completed efforts to beautify Tanner Park in Copiague. For several years now, the students have been coming twice a year, spring and fall, as part of a commitment to community service. With guidance from Town of Babylon Horticulturist Jenny Ulsheimer, the students cleaned up and planted fall flowers at their Adopt-a-Spot located at the front entrance to Tanner Park as well as in front of the Senior Center there.
The Adopt-a-Spot Program is part of the Beautification Program and was designed to enhance the overall appearance of our town. The program invites professional landscapers or community groups and organizations who want to beautify a Town-owned parcel of land. Councilwoman Gordon is Chairperson of the Beautification Program.
