Supervisor Rich Schaffer, Councilman Terry McSweeney and Town Clerk Gerry Compitello were on hand to support Town of Babylon’s own Tyler Mashkow at the launch event for his non-profit organization Grades-N-Gainz, Inc. held at 1 More Rep Athletic and Fitness facility in East Farmingdale. “I’m Gonna Be Somebody” was the theme of the day as kids heard personal and inspiring stories of believing in oneself to overcome obstacles and achieve success from Tyler, a former NYS champion wrestler who was also ranked in the top 5 nationally, 1MR owner and entrepreneur Joe Palumbo, former NFL player Chris Manno and nationally recognized youth motivational speaker Rohan Murphy. Joining the Town were Jordan Higgins from NYS Assemblywoman Kimberly Jean-Pierre’s office, and Mike Falk from NYS Assemblyman Mike LiPetri’s office. Grades-N-Gainz seeks to reward students who perform well academically with sponsored gym memberships.
