Town Clerk Gerry Compitello recently joined with Supervisor Rich Schaffer and the Babylon Town Board to recognize Shaakirah Nazim Harris of Amityville Memorial High School, a talented singer who recently appeared in a video from Facebook that aired on national television in celebration of Black History Month. The video, available here, features singers from Facebook social groups and members of the musical act June’s Diary performing the song “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” Town Clerk Compitello spoke of the need to empower young artists in our community and presented Harris with an official town certificate in recognition of her accomplishments.
