[ARCHIVED] Supervisor Schaffer Reminds Residents to Trim Overhanging Trees

Babylon Town Supervisor Rich Schaffer would like to remind all residents to properly trim trees on their property that may hang over roadways in advance of the upcoming hurricane season. Such trees and their limbs may fall in the event of a storm, leading to the obstruction of critical roadways as well as damage surrounding properties and cause potential harm to residents. Overhanging trees can also take down utility wires, leading to service disruption.

Do not trim any branches touching electrical wires yourself. Please contact the Long Island Power Authority at (631) 755-6900 or the respective utility company for consultation.
