Dear Neighbors,
We hope that you and your loved ones are doing well and staying healthy during this difficult time. We have come a long way since the beginning of this pandemic and we thank you all for your continued patience and understanding as we navigate these uncharted waters. While we certainly have made great strides in combating COVID-19 in our area, we are not in the clear yet. Please continue to maintain social distancing and wear a face covering in public places, as these are the easiest effective methods to reduce transmission of the virus. By doing these small steps and using common sense, you will be doing your part to help get things back to normal.
The Town of Babylon is a strong community and we have stood together to face great adversity before. Please be mindful of those around you and show the same compassion for your neighbors that you have shown when we have gone through tough times in the past. With patience and empathy, we will all emerge from this challenging situation stronger and more united - just as we did before.
Sincerely,
Supervisor Rich Schaffer
Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez
Councilman Terry McSweeney
Councilman Anthony Manetta
Councilman DuWayne Gregory
Town Clerk Gerry Compitello
Receiver of Taxes Jennifer Montiglio
Town Status Update
All regions of New York state, including the Town of Babylon and the rest of Long Island, are in the final stage of reopening: Phase 4. For a full list of what is allowed to reopen as part of this phase and the guidance they must follow, please visit the NY Forward website.
The Town of Babylon remains under a State of Emergency as declared by Supervisor Schaffer on March 13th and town buildings remain partially closed. However, all essential Town services are available. You can submit a request online here to the appropriate department, who will contact you in response to your inquiry. Click here to find forms, applications and other documents.
If you do need to visit either Town Hall or the Town Hall Annex to drop off or pick-up anything related to a necessary service, there will be one entrance available to speak with a Public Safety officer. We ask that you contact the department that you need prior to your visit. To be connected with a specific department, please call (631) 957-3000.

Parks & Recreation Information
Town of Babylon Beaches are open to RESIDENTS ONLY until 5PM. A beach permit is required for entry. Visit this page for the rules in place as a result of COVID-19 and for information on how to obtain a beach permit.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: While the town beaches are open, capacity remains restricted due to regulations imposed by New York State in response to COVID-19. This means that our beaches tend to fill up and reach full capacity very quickly, forcing us to turn people away. Before you leave for the beach, be sure to check the status of our beaches on our Town of Babylon Parks Facebook page or sign up for email alerts.
Business Assistance
Knowing full well how important local business is to our community, the Town of Babylon and Babylon IDA have unveiled a variety of programs designed to lend assistance and provide necessary resources to these establishments and organizations during this difficult time. To learn more about these programs, please visit our COVID-19 Business Assistance page.
COVID-19 Heroes
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Town of Babylon residents and essential workers have gone above and beyond to lend a helping hand to their neighbors during this difficult time. Learn their stories here.
