UPDATE:
Supervisor Rich Schaffer, Deputy Supervisor and Parks Chairman Tony Martinez and the rest of the Town Board are happy to announce that 2020 Summer Beach Permit prices have been reduced in response to the different summer we have planned due to COVID-19. By reducing fees, we are able to give our residents a little relief while also collecting the necessary funding to keep our facilities clean and well-staffed for our visitors. The new fees are as follow:
Resident Recreation Permits: $35 (normally $45)
Senior, Volunteer Firefighter and Veteran Recreation Permits: $15 (normally $20)*
*Volunteer firefighters and Veterans must have a valid ID at time of purchase
Parks & Recreation Summer Beach Permits are now on sale at the Phelps Lane pool in North Babylon. Permits will be on sale from 12pm to 6pm Monday-Friday, and 9am to 1pm on Saturdays. Permits will be sold CREDIT CARD ONLY.
As always, you will need a valid drivers license, car registration and tax/utility bill with a matching address in the Town of Babylon to be able to purchase a permit.
Resident recreation permits will be required beginning June 13th at Overlook Beach, Cedar Beach, and Gilgo Beach and June 26th at Cedar Beach Marina & Campground.
There will be NO LIMIT on the number of passes sold this summer, and passes will be sold six days a week for the DURATION of the summer.
IMPORTANT CHANGES IN PERMIT PROCEDURE. PLEASE READ:
- Permits will ONLY be sold at the Phelps Lane Pool for the ENTIRE SEASON. Permits will NOT be sold at Tanner Park or the Cedar Beach Marina at any point during the summer.
- Wearing masks/face coverings is required to purchase a permit to keep both you and our employees safe. NO MASK = NO SALE.
- Residents must remain in their car for the entirety of the transaction. Please have all relevant documentation and your credit card within arms reach before pulling into the lot.
If you have any questions, please call the Department of Parks & Recreation at (631) 893-2100.
