[ARCHIVED] Census 2020 - Make Babylon Count!

census

Supervisor Rich Schaffer and the Town Board are beginning a town-wide campaign to boost the Town of Babylon’s census participation rate for 2020.

Filling out the Census is required by law to help determine the overall population of the United States and is used to make decisions regarding state and federal funding for our communities. This funding helps support the programs and services that you and your neighbors cherish the most – including for local governments, schools, fire departments, first responders, sports, small businesses, libraries and more.

In the 2010 Census, less than 60% of those living within the Town of Babylon filled out the census. That means we lost out on 40% of funding that should have come to us. We cannot let that happen again!

If you have not done so already, please fill out the census. It can be done all online by visiting https://my2020census.gov/.

Under Title 13, the Census Bureau cannot release any identifiable information about you, your home, or your business, even to law enforcement agencies. The law ensures that your private data is protected and that your answers cannot be used against you by any government agency or court.
