[ARCHIVED] Tropical Storm Cleanup Update

downed tree

Our Department of Public Works has dedicated all resources to cleanup efforts across the town as yesterday’s high winds brought down over 300 trees. The first priority is clearing trees from roadways based on whether they are main, secondary or tertiary roads. We are coordinating with PSEG Long Island to remove trees that have fallen into live wires. This process is expected to take the duration of this week, as thousands of limbs and branches have fallen in addition to entire trees.

Once all roadways are clear, we will begin collecting fallen debris on the side of the road. We expect to begin this process next week.
