[ARCHIVED] Supervisor Schaffer Honors New Eagle Scout

Babylon Town Supervisor Rich Schaffer recently presented a proclamation to Gregory S. Cummings for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout at his Court of Honor ceremony, which was held at Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church in West Babylon. Town Councilman Tom Donnelly and New York State Assemblyman Robert Sweeney were also in attendance.

For his Eagle project, Gregory, a member of Boy Scout Troop 183 in West Babylon, constructed a planter bench for West Gates Elementary School in Lindenhurst. The bench was built using cedar wood that was purchased through donations made by local vendors.

Pictured from left to right are Assemblyman Sweeney; Councilman Donnelly; Supervisor Schaffer; Eagle Scout Gregory S. Cummings; Valerie Cummings, mother; John Cummings, father; Ray Cummings, grandfather; Cathy Cummings, grandmother; and Gregory’s sisters Stacey and Alyssa.
