1. Why didn’t my last payment show up on the bill?

Bills print on the 5^th of the month and everything received after that will reflect on your next month bill.

2. Can I pay in installments/ by credit card/ electronically?

Sorry, no credit cards or cash. We only accept check or money order.

3. I thought the garbage was covered under my taxes?

The Solid Waste infrastructure is supported through property taxes as well as 1.5 yards of collection per week.

4. What happened to my credit allocation?

Tenant/Landlord: The 1.5 yards of collection service is per tax parcel.

5. Can’t you lower the prices?

Prices are based entirely on the cost of collection and disposal; no profit or sales tax is included.

6. How can I dispute the bill after you denied me a credit/refund?

Anyone may address the Sanitation Commission at its monthly meeting. You may be put on the agenda to be heard at the Sanitation Commission meeting by calling 631-422-7670. Meetings are held the first Thursday of every month.

7. I’m a landlord; I shouldn’t be responsible for my tenant’s bill?

Town legislation requires that unpaid Solid Waste debt be applied to the property as a lien.
