Where is the Town Clerk located?: The Town Clerk is located at Town Hall at 200 East Sunrise Highway in Lindenhurst. The main phone number is (631) 957-4292 and the hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 9:00 am - 4:30 pm. The Town Clerk serves as the chief records keeper for the Town. The Town Clerk's Office maintains the minutes for all Town Board meetings, the Zoning Board of Appeals, the Accessory Apartment Review Board, the Planning Board, and all other boards governing the Town. This office has records dating back from 1827 of town laws, resolutions, ordinances, and other town business in the original form and on microfilm. The Town Clerk performs four basic functions that include records management, registrar of vital statistics, marriage officer and licensing officer. 3. How can I get a copy of the Town of Babylon Code?: The Town's code is available online. Code books are also available for purchase through the Town Clerk's Office.

4. How do I register my new business?: All new businesses, regardless of location within Suffolk County, must register with the State of New York through the Suffolk County Clerk's Office in Riverhead. The Suffolk County Clerk's Office can be reached at (631) 852-2000.

5. Can I obtain property information from the Town of Babylon?: All property information requests can be made through the Town Clerk's Office as a Freedom of Information Request (FOIL). Requested information can include the name and address of the property owner and complaints filed against that property, surveys, certificate of occupancy (COs), permits, plans, etc.

Note: A property owner can request property information directly from the Department of Planning & Development's Building Division for property they own. They must show proof of identity. Certified documents can also be requested, but can take up to two weeks to prepare.
