The Town of Babylon’s Animal Shelter, i.e. the Babylon Animal Adoption Rescue Center (BAARC), is located at 80 New Highway, Amityville. The phone number is (631) 643-9270. The Shelter has several programs that it provides for Town residents. A Town resident can go to the Animal Shelter to have a dog licensed, to adopt a dog or cat, and turn in a dog or cat for adoption or to be euthanized for a modest fee. Dog Control Officers are assigned to the Department to enforce Article 7 of the Agricultural and Markets Law of New York State and local laws and ordinances of the Town of Babylon.
